| Our Vineyard |
In 2003 we planted 6 acres in Syrah, 4 acres in Cabernet Sauvignon, 2 acres in Sauvignon Blanc, and 1 acre in Viognier. We had our first harvest in 2008. Our first estate wines will be on the market in 2010.
Currently Le Mulet Rouge® produces 500 cases of wine a year, including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Merlot, Mourvedre and Barbara with grapes bought from local growers. |
A Vineyard Story

I never knew the earth
had so much gold-
the fields run over with it,
and this hill
Hoary and old,
Is young with buoyant blooms
that flame and thrill.

Clear had the day been
from the dawn,
All chequer'd was the sky,
Thin clouds, like scarfs of
cobweb lawn,
Veil'd haven's most glorious eye.
From A Summer's Eve, Michael Brayton |
 |
And Winter, slumbering in the open air,
Wears on his smiling face
a dream of Spring!
From Work Without Hope, Samuel Taylor Coleridge |
 |
Broad-based, broad-fronted,
bounteous, multiform
With many a valley impleached
with ivy and vine
Wherein the springs of all the
streams run wine

I knew not but in every leaf
That sprang to life along with me,
Were written all the joy and grief
Thenceforth my fate to be.
