Winery The winery building (still a dream) will be built into the hillside for energy conservation and to make sure our wines are kept at optimal temperature as they age. Currently we use established structures on our land. Picture of bottling (Foto by Fenner) Our wines are made from a variety of grapes grown locally. We will continue to use locally grown grapes until our own vineyard is in production. For the most part we pick and crush the grapes ourselves and age the wine in French, Hungarian and America oak barrels. Ravishing Reds 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon...................................... $24/bottle* A big, bold, sophisticated red that is superb to drink now and will only get better with age. Unfined and unfiltered, it should be decanted before pouring. 2001 Merlot.............................................................. $24/bottle* This merlot is full-bodied with the color of a ruby.  It is a jewel and one of the best reds we have produced. A peppery nose leads into ripe, fruit softly line with oak around the edges. 2002 Amador County Barbara ............................ $18/bottle* A simple wine that blends beautifully with foods, especially Italian. Hints of cherry and oak with a clean finish. 2005 Amador Port (375 mL)................................. $29/bottle* Our Amador County port is a “Single Quinta Port”, from grapes all harvested from the same vineyard in Amador County in 2005. It is blend of five traditional Portuguese varietals: Tinta Roriz, Touriga, Tinta cao, Alvarelhao, and Souzao.
